An original hand-printed linocut inspired by my travels through Malaysia, capturing the contrasts and connections that define the country. From historic architecture and colonial-era streetscapes to contemporary urban development, the work reflects a journey through places shaped by both tradition and change. Throughout my travels, a sketchbook served as a constant companion, recording moments of everyday life, welcoming encounters, and experiences within Malaysia’s rich natural landscapes.
A subset of the final work, composed of four individual tiles assembled into a single large print. Each tile reveals a fragment of my stay in Kuala Lumpur—a visual memory, observation, or encounter—while together they form a broader narrative of place and experience.
Handprinted using Cranfield’s phthalo blue relief ink on Lawrence’s Hereford paper.
Paper size 27.5cm x 29cm (approximately)
Lino image size 21cm x 21cm
Limited edition of 25
Due to the printing process, each print will be slightly different with minor colour variations.
This means that each print is truly unique.
Made from oil based inks.
